The Avaya IP Office phone system has a multitude of features to make day to day call handling easier. The feature for discussion today is voicemail to email.
Voicemail is an essential tool for the modern business but really only half the solution if the message is only available on the phone it was left on and not retrievable from anywhere else. Using voicemail to email enables the message to be emailed to the owner of the extension or members of a hunt group including day and night service messages. This also works if hot-desking is in use because the email is associated with the user rather than the base extension making it particularly handy for multi-site operation. Hot-desking has been discussed in a previous article.
Voicemail to email is available on Essential Edition and does not require special client software. Preferred Edition introduces server-based voicemail with multiple mailboxes per user.
