Cambium Networks is pleased to announce a unique product for Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 6, and Wi-Fi 6E networks. The XE5-8 offers unprecedented density and capability with dual 6 GHz (Wi-Fi 6E) radios with software-defined control.
The 6 GHz band is open for Wi-Fi networks, expanding the Wi-Fi spectrum by 3x in many regulatory domains. However, the access rules and allowed transmit power are different from what we have used with Wi-Fi 5 and previous generations. The XE5-8 can be managed with cnMaestro X or Essentials (cloud or on-premises), XMS-Cloud, or Swift applications. This management flexibility allows the XE5-8 to be tailored to meet end-user or managed service provider requirements with application policy controls, location services, BYOD security segmentation, or part of a wireless fabric architecture spanning outdoor broadband, Ethernet switching, and enterprise Wi-Fi.
To fully utilise the new spectrum available and unlock higher density capability, Cambium Networks has designed the XE5-8 with three software-defined radios, plus one fixed band radio.

FAQ:
Q. Will these new access points be managed by XMS-Cloud and XMS-Enterprise?
A. The XE5-8 is supported by XMS Cloud. It is not supported on XMS-Enterprise.
Q. Will these new access points be managed by cnMaestro?
A. Yes, the XE5-8 is supported by cnMaestro X and Essentials, both cloud and on-premises VM versions.
Q. Will XE5-8 support Standard Power mode up to 36dBm EIRP?
A. The AP is designed to support up to 36dBm EIRP. Operation under SP class is controlled by an AFC (automatic frequency coordination) system as described in
regulatory domain rules. When an approved AFC system is available, the XE5-8 will support it.
Q. If I order the XE5-8X00A-RW and later my country regulatory approves the 6 GHz band, how do I enable 6 GHz operation?
A. Open a support ticket with Cambium Networks. Provide the unit MSN (the serial number) and the country that has allowed the 6 GHz band. Customer support
will respond with a key tied to that product MSN along with instructions on how to use the key on cnMaestro to unlock the 6 GHz band. On all future orders
for your approved country regulatory, use the XE5-8X00A06-RW. Note the 6 in the SKU indicates that this AP will ship from Cambium with the 6 GHz radio
allowed for use. You can then use the software defined radio configuration to enable 5 GHz or 6 GHz mode on the SDR radios.
