Cisco Meraki is announcing the end-of sale for the MR66 ruggedised, high capacity outdoor Access Point. Final orders were the 9th of June but depending on stock levels the actual end of sale date may be sooner.
End-of-Support date is 9th of June 2024. This means that existing MR66’s can continue to be licensed and will be replaced if they fail up until that date.
The MR66 has been replaced by the functionally equivalent MR74.
The MR66 is a dual radio 802.11n Access Point with each radio capable of 600Mbps.
The replacement MR74 is a quad radio 802.11ac Access Point. There are the standard 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios along with a Bluetooth Low Energy radio for iBeacons and a WIDS/WIPS radio for intrusion detection. The MR74 is rated to IP67 for dust, shock, vibration and moisture.
