Cisco Meraki is announcing the end-of sale for the MR62 ruggedised, high capacity outdoor Access Point. Final orders will be will be accepted up to the 15th of November 2017 however, the actual final date may be earlier if stock runs out.
The End-of-Support date is 15th of November 2024. This means that existing MR62’s can continue to be licensed and will be replaced if they fail up until that date. They may be replaced with refurbished units or with a current replacement and a license swap done with the assistance of Cisco Support.
The MR62 has been replaced by the MR74.
The MR62 was a single radio 802.11n Access Point capable of 300Mbps.
The replacement MR74 is a quad radio 802.11ac Wave 2 Access Point capable of up to 1.3Gbps. There are the standard 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios along with a Bluetooth Low Energy radio for iBeacons and a WIDS/WIPS radio for intrusion detection. The MR74 is rated to IP67 for dust, shock, vibration and moisture ingress.
