Cordless phones have traditionally used DECT – Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications – which offers long range and plenty of channels but others are available that utilise Wi-Fi.
Grandstream and Linkvil/Fanvil also offer Wi-Fi phones which have the distinct advantage of being able to utilise an existing Wi-Fi network so you don’t have to deploy an additional DECT network with additional cabling. Wi-Fi cordless phones are therefore most suitable for deployments such as schools or childcare centres that already have good Wi-Fi coverage. They offer additional functionality such as receiving intercom calls and video preview if you have a door phone with a camera.
Gigaset offers a range of DECT cordless phones for the office or home. Repeaters can be added for extra range.
Yealink offers single or multi-cell DECT cordless phones.
Engenius offers single and multi-line long range analogue and DECT cordless phones in standard versions for the office and ruggedised versions for sports grounds, building management factories and construction sites.
