With the move to IP endpoints and hosted phone systems there may no longer be analogue ports available to drive paging systems or loud ringing bells. Fortunately, Algo has a range of products to address those needs. Adding IP ringers and strobes, actually gives more flexibility than trying to get analogue devices to work in remote locations from the main system.
We can offer the following Algo products to address many requirements:
The 8180 SIP Audio Alerter (G2) has upgraded hardware capable of running the latest security and encryption standards, including TLS & SRTP, ensuring secure communication with hosted SIP providers. The G2 version includes a number of new features including enhanced multicast options, a relay input for using a button, and dedicated “Emergency Alert” extensions similar to other SIP endpoints such as the 8188 Ceiling Speaker and 8301 Paging Adapter.
The 2506 Polycom VVX Ring Detector enables Algo IP speakers & strobes to be used as a loud ringer and/or visual ring indicator for a Polycom VVX telephone. Algo supported endpoints include: 8180, 8188 speakers and 8128 strobe. The 2506 module connects to the headset jack of the VVX telephone, and eliminates the need for SIP registration of the endpoint device. This is particularly useful in a Microsoft Skype for Business/Teams deployment because it eliminates a monthly fee for an additional extension.
The 8188 is a SIP compliant IP ceiling speaker for voice paging, emergency notification and playing background music. The speaker is PoE and does not require an additional amplifier. The 8188 is UL2043 certified for installation in air handling spaces. Common application environments include a school, hospital, retail store and office spaces. A Hydrophobic Membrane Screen can be attached to the speaker for placement in areas subject to moisture (e.g. shower).
The 8128ABR is a SIP compliant IP strobe light. This endpoint is PoE, using LED’s designed for alerting and notification of telephone, emergency, safety and security events. The strobe features 16 configurable flash patterns/intensities and four colour options to suit any application, particularly in noisy or noise sensitive environments.
The 8301 is a paging adapter for IP enabling analogue voice paging systems. The device also functions as a scheduler for automated bells, tones, announcements and music. The 8301 is a SIP interface to seamlessly bridge an analogue paging system to VoIP eliminating the need for an ATA or FXS port. Common application environments including a school, hospital, retail store, factory, airport / bus / train terminal, etc.
The 8373 is a paging adapter for IP enabling zoned analogue voice paging systems. The endpoint is a SIP interface to seamlessly bridge an analogue paging system to VoIP. Common application environments include schools, hospitals, retail stores, etc.
While they seem similar the 8301 and 8373 perform different functions. In summary, if you have one amplifier but want to create zone paging by controlling up to 3 sets of analogue speakers with the appropriate wiring then the 8373 is the solution. For all other applications, the 8301 is what you need.
