Most new home builders only allow for one or two TV points and one or two telephone points. In a modern house, this is quite inadequate especially with the National Broadband Network to consider so this is where we can come in to design a system that will work for you to allow distribution of content from your media server around the house or print from your laptop to your main printer.
More and more houses are having structured cabling installed which can carry services such as telephone, data, television, etc to all points of the house. Even if you are not sure what you need in a room, it’s worth running the cable to the room and hiding it in the wall for future use.
Wireless is another option but one which complements rather than replaces the wired network both from a security and speed perspective.
With the rapid advancement in cabling technology, a Category 6A network installed in your home today capable of Gigabit Ethernet or even the emerging 10G Ethernet will will have considerably superior performance to most commercial systems - even those installed only recently - and more importantly will be futureproof for the technologies of tomorrow.
Category 7 is another standard, popular in Europe, that utilises a shielded cable and is designed to allow a single cable per room to carry multiple services but at present it's cheaper to run 2 or even 3 Cat 6A and a coax to each room.
We can also design the cabling and provide equipment and advice for your multi-media room.
